A night of soulful beats, lyricism and East ⇄ West connection.

On a warm night in Lisbon, Casa Capitão turned into a small universe of soul, jazz and hip-hop.
For the first time in Portugal, Shing02 and Spin Master A-1 brought the spirit of the Luv(sic) Hexalogy to life, performing songs that have travelled across cities, headphones and generations.
Presented by A66 Global, the evening was about more than a concert. It was a gathering of people who grew up on these songs, and people discovering them for the first time, standing shoulder to shoulder in a courtyard by the river.

The night opened with Spin Master A-1 guiding the room with a pure vinyl set. Cuts, blends and scratches set the tone, weaving classic hip-hop energy with the warmth of jazz samples. It felt like watching a master at work, building the foundation before Shing02 stepped onto the mic.
At the beginning of the show, Shing02 spoke to the crowd with words that were as inspiring as his music.
“One for one, one love, hip-hop worldwide.We gotta live peaceful lives. Then your one turns to two, remember that feeling.
That’s how unity turns to peace.That’s the power we need right now.
It’s hard to go from the feast to peace, but there’s a simple answer, unity. You can’t go from zero to two without passing through one.
That’s why we need the power of unity in this world.
Real unity means diversity.
Real unity means we are different, but we are together, just like this party.
Real unity means respecting each other’s differences. We celebrate our differences.”

When the first Luv(sic) chords dropped, you could feel the air shift. People rapped along, some with eyes closed, some holding phones up, everyone locked into the same frequency. The songs carried memories of Nujabes, Tokyo, late-night YouTube rabbit holes and long bus rides with these tracks on repeat.
Shing02’s performance was intimate and precise. Between songs he shared stories, small reflections, and moments that reminded us why these pieces mean so much to so many. It felt both nostalgic and very present, like the past and now meeting in one courtyard in Lisbon.
