Marsix (Liu Jialiang)

Marsix works with sound like water, moving through tension, intuition, and layered waves of memory.

Born into a musical family and trained in traditional Chinese instruments from an early age, he approaches the pipa not as a symbol of identity, but as a conduit for sensation.

Having studied composition, and working across piano, pipa, and turntablism, he moves freely between sonic techniques and languages.
He follows intuition, not genre.

Marsix doesn’t just play sound, he creates soundscapes, immersive environments built between stillness and motion, presence and absence.
He moves fluidly between East and West, acoustic and electronic, improvisation and silence.
Each performance is a sensory ritual, instinctive and in motion.

His sound holds both a quiet magnetism and a rich spectrum of emotional and spatial energy.
Between tension and softness, resonance and restraint, every set expands in a different direction, always inviting repeated listening, never the same twice.

Each appearance asks a question:
How can sound embody the imaginary, reveal the real, and still leave behind a lingering resonance?

As part of A66, Marsix represents a new form of sonic practice, moving across time, language, and geography, without boundaries, without definitions.

In his sound, the world opens to infinite possibility.

Marsix
